ABOUT US

LIFE Journey Ministries demonstrates how the four biblical principles of love, intimacy, freedom and encouragement in Christ can be applied to the unique journeys of women. Through Bible studies, social events, charitable outreaches and a myriad of growth opportunities, women from all stages of life will be welcomed into an environment that meets them where they are at emotionally and spiritually, enabling them to be transparent in the process of freely finding their identity and God given purpose. With Christ at the helm, LIFE Journey Ministries aims at providing women not only with the tools to embark on their life journey but also a fellowship of sisters willing to encourage one another to live life abundantly.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.” Romans 8:38
LOVE - Truly believing in the love of the Father can be a challenge for women when facing difficult situations. Once we can connect “what we know” regarding His love with “how we feel” then the seed is planted for life to blossom. Part of the process in receiving His love is learning the ways in which He expresses His love for us. How can we experience God’s love? In what ways does the Lord tangibly show us His love? When we may not feel His love how can we press beyond what we are feeling? How can we play a role in showing other’s the love that God has shown us? These are all questions among many that will filter discussion and allow us to come to a greater knowledge of Christ’s love and His desire for us to attain an abundant life.

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me...You know my thoughts even when I'm far away." Psalm 139:1
INTIMACY - How can we become more intimate with the Lord? What prohibits us from being intimate and completely transparent with an all knowing God? What little steps can we take in drawing closer to Him? How real can we be with God? Is it okay to share feelings of anger, bitterness and resentment towards Him? Will He turn away from us if we are too honest? Our thoughts are no mystery to the Lord. He knows us, so sharing with Him the truthful emotions we experience is not necessarily for His benefit but rather for us to trust Him with everything we are and to develop a deeply intimate relationship with our Creator.

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
2 Corinthians 3:17
FREEDOM - How can we walk in the freedom that the Lord desires for our lives? How do we recognize areas of bondage and spiritual strongholds that God wants us to be set free from? Are we willing to go through the process of discovering the steps we need to take to walk in the fullness of life that Christ has purposed for us? If we choose to embrace our lives and seek to find the freedom we have been purposed to live out, then together we can break the bondage that has generationally and traditionally withheld the voice of women caged up behind the fallacies of Satan’s lies and deception.

“So encourage each other and build
each other up, just as you are already doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11
ENCOURAGEMENT - Christ is the ultimate example of encouragement. He walked in humility and service to those he encountered. Because of His example it is important for us to discover how we can encourage each other through the highs and lows we face. We have to be willing to set aside ourselves and put the needs of others before our own. In a “selfie-driven” society, how can we create a community that focuses on building up a multitude of strong, purpose-driven women? Is it possible to press beyond the jealousy and humbly serve one another? In what ways can we exemplify Christ and encourage others in their life journey? This process can be achieved. If we stand confidently in the individual purpose that the Lord has for us we can then shepherd and guide other women in hearing the encouragement of God’s voice in their lives. It is the voice of the Shepherd that will guide His sheep into a life that is filled with His empowerment, all we need is to be willing to take the journey with Him.
